Getting Involved

Welcome to our nonprofit site!

Mentoring matters.

It makes a difference in the lives of individuals. It makes a difference in communities.

MCP as part of the Council of the Southern Mountains is presently working in the southern counties of WV to match up responsible mantors and  young people who have a parent incarcerated,on parole,on probation or otherwise involved with the legal system.

There are between 1.5 and 2 million young people with at least one incarerated parent, about 35,000 of those are in WV and an estimated 5000 plus of those are in the counties we serve. It is predicted that 70 percent will follow in their parents footsteps if someone doesn't invest in their lives. Mentoring has been shown to make a difference.

If you live in any of the following WV counties:

  • McDowell
  • Mingo
  •  Logan Wyoming
  •  Raliegh
  •  Mercer
  •  Summer
  •  Monroe

And if you believe in mentoring we would like to talk to you about becoming involved.
